CHICAGO (May 2019) - As the U.S. Women's National Team continues its preparations for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup and as excitement for the tournament continues to build, today U.S. Soccer launched its "One Nation. One Team. 23 Stories." series, presented by Volkswagen.
The exclusive video content featured on ussoccer.com, U.S. Soccer social media channels and on the U.S. Soccer YouTube page highlights each member on the U.S. World Cup roster and allows fans the opportunity to hear the players' personal stories off the pitch before supporting them this summer in France during the world's largest sporting event for women.
The videos lend insight into the players' personalities, motivations, families, and obstacles they have overcome to represent the United States in soccer's most important competition. Through the fun, humorous, sincere and emotional stories, fans will gain a new perspective of their favorite players and the journeys they have taken to get to this point their lives and careers.
Ahead of the summer's tournament, U.S. Soccer also presented the WNT Dictionary and launched the WNT Everywhere campaign, bringing fans of all ages closer to the team with an inside look into the world of the USWNT, as well as 11 murals in locations meaningful to players, such as players' hometowns, club team locations, or college towns. Murals will be located in San Francisco, Atlanta, Orlando, St. Louis, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, Portland, and Cincinnati. In addition, each member of the USA's 2019 Women's World Cup Team had a special and unique poster produced. The city murals will also be available as posters.
The WNT Everywhere campaign also marked the launch of the new U.S. Soccer app. Using object recognition technology in the app, fans can align their mobile phone with one of the eye-catching murals and posters to unlock exclusive content about the U.S. WNT players that is not available anywhere else.
This summer the U.S Women's National Team will face Thailand, Chile and Sweden in Group F at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. The U.S. will open Group F play against Thailand on June 11 (3 p.m. ET) at Auguste Delaune Stadium in Reims. The USA then faces Chile on June 16 (12 p.m. ET) at Parc des Princes in Paris, followed by Sweden on June 20 (3 p.m. ET) at Stade Océane in Le Havre.
